Sintered Tabular alumina 0.2-0.6mm
Sintered Tabular alumina 0.2-0.6mm is a high-density, fully shrunk, coarse crystalline alpha-alumina that has been converted to the corundum form. It is a completely crystallized α-alumina sintered at slightly below the melting point of imported alumina after batching, grinding, and molding.
Tabular Alumina is produced by sintering ball-formed alumina at a temperature under the 2040°C fusion point of aluminum oxide. The crystals are arranged in a tabular staggered way, which increases the mechanical strength of the particles.
Tabular alumina has characteristic large, well-developed hexagonal tablet-shaped α-alumina crystals of up to 200μm length.

Applications of Sintered Tabular alumina 0.2-0.6mm :
- Shaped and unshaped refractory
Tabular alumina can be used as the main component in aluminum-carbon, aluminum-magnesium-carbon, magnesia-aluminum-carbon, magnesia spinel, aluminum-chromium refractory bricks, or as a component of unshaped refractory products.
- Sliding nozzle for the steel industry
With good thermal shock stability and wear resistance which is required for refractory materials for sliding nozzles, the sintered tabular alumina can precisely meet all the demands of a sliding nozzle. The aluminum-carbon sliding nozzle is made from sintered tabular alumina mixed with graphite (or carbon black) and antioxidant, or the aluminum-zirconium-carbon sliding nozzle is made from sintered tabular alumina mixed with the appropriate amount of zirconia, graphite (or carbon black) and antioxidant is very popular in steel making industry.
- Ladle castables (Kiln furniture)
With the continuous development of refining technology outside the furnace, the use environment of refractory materials in the ladle is becoming more and more demanding. The molten steel needs to stay longer in the ladle for stirring, heating, and erosion of different steel slags. The single material of the ladle lining has been replaced by composite materials. The aluminum-magnesium spinel castables are made from sintered tabular corundum and spinel is more used for the bottom or wall of the cladding as linings.
- Refractory prefabrication
Raw materials for breathable bricks, seat bricks, spray guns, impact plates, etc. Those prefabrications are not only part of the refractory lining of the ladle, but also play a very important role in the steelmaking process itself. Adopting tabular alumina will increase the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of those products.
- Tabular alumina ball as heat storage ball.
6. Glue and filler
Tabular Alumina fine powder work as additives to Electronic potting glue and other thermal conductive glue & adhesive.
