Low sodium tabular alumina as filtration
Low sodium tabular alumina is of sodium content(Na2O) less than 0.2% even less than0.1%. The Na2O content effect the density, hardness, apperaent porosity. Low sodium means better thermal performance. It enhance the abilities of tabular alumina such as high temperature resistance, alkli resistance, etc.
In the production of aluminum alloy, there is a filter layer to get rid of aluminum slag and impurities. Such as melting aluminum ignot to aluminum belt and aluminum profile, the filter can keep the slag, oxiding material and bubbles from the pure melting aluminum liquid. Thus, it can avoid voids and defect of aluminum castings. The filter has to bear high temperature and get stable properties with melting aluminum circumstance. Tabular alumina is a kind of inert particle. Fractions such as 3-6mm /12-18mm are mostly used in this application.
