Sintered alumina tabulated structure 0.5-1mm
Sintered alumina tabulated structure 0.5-1mm is a sintered aluminum oxide produced by a rapid & intensive sintering process at a high temperature of 1800-1950 °C. High Al2O3 chemical purity and low porous rate are significant features of tabular alumina.
By the sintering method, the compacted alumina crystals formed in a tabular staggered way, which increases the mechanical strength of the particles. The unique low porosity structure results in low water absorption.
Tabular alumina has characteristic large, well-developed hexagonal tablet-shaped α-alumina crystals of 50-400um length. The tabulated structure is visible from the appearance of the eyes.
Sintered alumina tabulated structure 0.5-1mm Properties:
- Complete crystallization, High purity up to 99.5% Al2O3

- Good resistance to alkalis and mineral acids
- Low water absorption of less than 1%
- High hardness and toughness
- High thermal conductivity
- Excellent thermal shock resistance
- Superior wear resistance, creep resistance, and slag resistance
- High volume stability
- High anti-bending strength

Sintered alumina tabulated structure 0.5-1mm Applications:
1. Shaped and unshaped refractory
Tabular alumina can be used as the main component in aluminum-carbon, aluminum-magnesium-carbon, magnesia-aluminum-carbon, magnesia spinel, aluminum-chromium refractory bricks, or as a component of unshaped refractory products.
2. Sliding gate plate & sliding nozzle
With good thermal shock stability and wear resistance which is required for refractory materials for sliding, the sintered tabular alumina can precisely meet all the demands as sliding nozzle. The aluminum-carbon sliding nozzle made from sintered tabular alumina mixing with graphite (or carbon black) and antioxidant, or aluminum-zirconium-carbon sliding nozzle made from sintered tabular alumina mixing with an appropriate amount of zirconia, graphite (or carbon black) and antioxidant are very popular in steel making industry.
3. Ladle castables (Kiln furniture)
With the continuous development of refining technology outside the furnace, the use environment of refractory materials in ladle is becoming more and more demanding. The molten steel needs to stay longer in the ladle for stirring, heating, and erosion of different steel slags. The aluminum-magnesium spinel castables made from sintered tabular corundum and AluMagCarbon bricks are used for the bottom lining and walls of steel ladle.
4. Refractory prefabrication
Raw materials for breathable bricks, seat bricks, spray guns, impact plates, etc. Those prefabrications produce by tabular alumina are not only part of the refractory lining of the ladle, but also play a very important role in the steelmaking process itself. Adopting tabular alumina will increase the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of those products.
5. Tabular alumina ball as heat storage ball.
6. Glue and filler for heat insulation purposes.Tabular Alumina fine powder work as additives to Electronic potting glue and other thermal conductive glue & adhesive.

FAQ:
Q: Are you a manufacturer or trading company?
A: We are a manufacturer of tabular alumina. We have about 20 years experience of in producing sintered tabular alumina.
Q: What aluminum oxide powder are you adopting as raw material?
A: We adopt imported Australian raw aluminum oxide powder as raw material. So the Al2O3 content is higher.
Q: What is the QC process in your factory?
A: We have a strict quality control system in the whole production: raw material inspection, fineness checking of raw Alumina powder, moisture check and density check during green ball drying, physical index (porosity, water absorption, density) check of the sintered ball, finished production inspection with all chemical & physical data.
Q: Do you have a MOQ?
A: Generally no limit to MOQ. Even 25kgs (1 bag)is ok for us. The logistic cost will be higher than normal.
Q: What is the lead time of FCL tabular alumina?
A: Around 7-10 days after receiving the deposit.
Q: Is a free sample available?
A: Yes, free samples within 5 kgs are available, customers only have to bear the express cost.
